How Information Management And Technology - 1908 Words

While this class may be set up for us to get a taste of entrepreneurship and the difficulties of working in small groups to build a company, this class also sheds light on the rigors of growing a successful company in the start-up realm. But despite its challenges, I knew that this class would provide more insight to working with teams and being able to work collectively in small groups to reach a common goal. That is what interested me most. Going back to the various ways Information Management and Technology can be incorporated in the working world, I think this course has a vital role in the curriculum the iSchool has to offer. Unlike other classes where our knowledge is tested by written exams or presentations, this class is unique in the way where we learn with trial and error. Instead of our work being graded on the finished product, our work is graded on the process of getting to that finished product. I’m currently taking IST 233 and IST 335 and they are quite polar op posites of each other. In IST 233, we’re learning about how computers and routers are setup so they work with other computers across the globe. We’re tested on a daily basis on what we learn throughout the class, but IST 335 is much diverse in the way where the lessons we are taught in class cannot be found in any other course on campus.
